What is the same about them?
- They both use C#.
- Both have free trial versions.
Please use NinjaTrader if:
- You wish to trade discretionary and never need historical testing on tick data. If so, use NinjaTrader because the original author of TickZOOM has tried it and loves it for that purpose. Using TickZOOM would be a mistake.
Consider using TickZOOM if:
- You want to do fast historical tick testing or you want to eventually trade an automated strategy, then why not still try NinjaTrader first? But if you do, you'll be back to TickZOOM because:
- TickZOOM has ZOOM speed technology to zoom through millions of ticks in seconds.
- TickZOOM handles unlimited ticks due to streaming technology.
- TickZOOM allows you to deploy your strategy without change to run 24/7 as a Windows service.
- TickZOOM has LGPL open source code, open defect tracking, open road map, and more.
- TickZOOM (Coming Soon!) integrates with TradeLink to support multiple brokers.
- In fact, you're encouraged to try the competition first. But in the end, the speed of TickZOOM and openness of the TickZOOM project will very likely bring you back.
